Out of Touch Prologue Remake

Out of Touch has come a long way since this project first started in March (earlier if you count the character designs and bios).

The prologue is the very earliest, and I mean that. The first scene in the prologue was actually made in 2019 about a week after I decided to try out Studio for the first time.

And yeah, it shows. Big time.

So like John Carmack always said, at the end of your development cycle you should go back and finally do your first level. While this is hardly the end of Out of Touch, Chapter 15 marks the end of Volume 1 which will be the first big, polished release for the game. Part of that is touching up all the art assets but for the prologue, it's a complete mulligan. I'm redoing all 340 images and adding about 300 more to properly pace the introduction. Back then I didn't exactly have a well defined workflow, so many of the scenes used are incomplete or just outright missing thus requiring a complete redo from reference or memory.

So for you readers who have just joined in the last week or so: Sorry for putting up with the current prologue!

The new prologue should be out in about a week, although this is something I really want to get done ASAP. Plot wise nothing drastic will be changing but every piece of dialogue will be rewritten and quite a few scenes are being added, so even long time readers may want to give it a go. Plus I think you'll find it's far more aesthetically pleasing this time. As proof, here are some before and after pictures of the old prologue versus the new one and a few nice pictures for the new scenes.

Thanks for reading!
