August Project Update!

Hey guys!

Hope your summer is treating you well! Mines going great so far, I had a nice trip with the family during July but we're back in the full swing of things for all of August.

And man, what a month already! As you've probably noticed, that cross-promo with Selebus has gotten us quite a bit of attention and I'm positively thrilled at how well received we've been by everyone.

For all you new patrons, welcome to the gang! If you've got a question or just want to shoot the shit, I'm always available by DM here and on our Discord server anytime. If you've been enjoying the game, we'd really appreciate it if you could give us a review on our f95 thread and our itch.io page!

Now, for the actual project status:

The bad news: animations are taking longer than we thought, for a variety of reasons. Cyda had a trip to the hospital which not only kept him from working on this but also his real school work, which has now piled up. (He's fine though don't worry)

We're still hoping to get them all done this month and if we're lucky, implemented too. I'll keep you updated.

The good news: Ch23 is basically done! It's render complete and the script is nearly completion, it'll likely be finished this week and will absolutely be included in the Ch22 update, bringing the total render count of v1.48 when it comes out to over 3500 which will increase the total render count of the game by nearly 50%.

So yeah, exciting!

Also you may have noticed the soundtrack update in v1.34.5. That's because we've signed on a few of my favorite Bandcamp vaporwave artists to officially include their music in our game!

These are the guys I listened to while writing the game and were my first choice for getting in the game. The fact that they all said yes was frankly shocking, but hey I'm not going to complain!

The two new artists are:

Phoenix makes some of the best, original style vaporwave I've ever heard. Full stop. He absolutely nails the faux-nostalgia and the required "uncomfy" of old Floral Shoppe-esque vaporwave.

I am not exagerating when I say Out of Touch would not be the game it is now without his music and I am ecstatic to be able to include his entire discography now.

Please, please, please go check him out here. Buy his albums, they're worth every penny.

Our second contributing artist is Vanity! You've likely heard their music in game already, but now we have permission to go all-in with their releases and you'll definitely be seeing more of them in the near future.

Vanity is another vaporwave project but focuses more on sounding like commercials or mall music.

While still nostalgic and undoubtedly 80s/90s inspired, it's far more upbeat and catchy at least on the surface.

This fake sheen is extremely important for the more mundane parts of the game and gives the open world segments an awesome vibe that they otherwise could lack.

Again, please for the love of God go give these guys money. Check them out here.

So beyond that, the August gravure poll will be up fairly shortly. As always, use your damn requests or Sarah's going to shoot you.

I might have an actual patron poll in the near future, for once. There's a very important question about upcoming content that I want to get your opinions on, since ultimately I want to make sure I'm putting out the content *you* guys will enjoy as much as I will.

And as always, if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me. You guys are never a bother.

Until next time!

Sincerely,

Story Anon
