Statement on the current itch.io and censorship situation

Hi everyone,

As you are no doubt aware by now, itch.io is being forced by payment processors and a small set of activists into censoring huge swathes of their catalog in a misguided attempt to curtail nsfw content.

There are many better sources for info regarding that whole situation than me, so I will spare you any repetition.

Please read itch.io's own statement: https://itch.io/updates/update-on-nsfw-content

The important matter that I thought was worth posting is simply this:

We're not going anywhere. They can pry Out of Touch from my cold, dead hands.

Thank you,

Give them your all man, I can't handle it if I can't see Ashley anymore. I don't know what I can do to help but if there is anything then I will

I keep direct links for the games I like -- definitely including OoT -- and even the games I'm interested in maybe, for times like this when they screw with the search engine. And I join all the discords. What I'm saying is... same.

From ours as well.

It's none of Visa or MasterCard's business what people choose to spend their money on.
It's kind of suspicious that both companies are doing this at the same time. Makes me think they're both owned by the same person/people.

it is because of a “woman’s activist” group colletive shout that is lobbying (is that the right word?) payment processe companys like visa or paypay to make these changes

If I remember right they sent like a thousand women into their work force, or something like that.

For U.S. Citizens Here is a link to the ACLU's petition.  https://action.aclu.org/petition/mastercard-sex-work-work-end-your-unjust-policy

This isn't a normal petition, but a call for legal action. Please sign so that those that work in this industry and adjacent industries don't have to worry about Payment Processors' harassment.

There's an actual bill going on in Congress and the Senate right now that has far more traction called Fair Access to Banking Act, H.R.987 and isn't focused on "sex work" which that phrasing alone will immediately turn off Conservatives. This bill is simply about eliminating payment processor's and bank's ability to dictate what businesses can and can't sell.

I highly recommend any and all people look into the fair access to banking act, this shit wont last long, fuck collective shout.

squeaky wheels get the grease. What is lawfully correct is not always what happens. We have countless court decision that contradict the constitution and the bill of rights. Being "correct" does not mean rulings in your favor, especially with activist judges on both both wings of the same corrupt bird.
