Guys,which installer should I download?

(+1)

All of them except chapter update. Maybe read instructions on the page? Or even download one and see instruction inside the app.

I forgot to reply on my own comment that I already downloaded the game

(+1)

hi are you planning to add Chinese to the game?

(+1)

Dude, honestly, games like Genshin with that anime vibe aren't really my jam—just downloaded this one on a whim 'cause I've been in a total gaming slump lately. Didn't expect to dive into another absolute banger! 😎 Of course, for the bros who are super thirsty and can't wait, those explosive fan-service moments hit a tad too slow. I started grinding at 10 PM, binged till 1:30 AM just to push the chapter to that sweet climax before crashing for the night :-D. The only real gripe? They went with Unity for the 3D animations and mini-games instead of Ren'Py, so no basic controller support at all. (Though, tbh, Ren'Py's controller tweaks aren't exactly stellar either lol.)

(1 edit) (+1)

I will eventually add controller support to our vn runtime, it’s just very low priority.

(1 edit) (+8)

no clue whats going on most of the time, but that boss fight was sick i literally got goosebumps. 10/10 game flawless

Edit: the audio work is awesome as well, good fucking job

(+1)

Do ladys moan?

(1 edit) (+1)

Some of them moan and some of them not because the dev is focusing on story for now I guess that's why I think they add moan for every later

(+3)

Do I need to download every single file for Android??

(+1)

You need 6 installers.

Why does it ask for permission to my files? Sketchs me out immediately

(+5)

Because it’s a naked Unity executable.

None of the game assets or scripts are archived on the pc/mac builds, so you can check everything inside to your own satisfaction.

OoT has been on itch.io since 2020 and has well over 1 million downloads, if I was handing out spyware I think someone would have noticed by now.

It requires permission to manage storage and permission to install packages. If you want to know why - installer unpacks content into public folder and you can view/change game assets yourself, game also uses this folder for saves. Of course I can probably use some document provider API to access that but that would require writing custom code just for Android, while file management permission allows me to use the same code as on other platforms with the only difference that I need to request permission on startup (on other platforms that code just doesn’t do anything). As for install packages permission - it’s for installer code to install game apk after it’s done extracting all assets, you can also find that APK in the same public folder. We used to provide that APK separately but people struggle even with current trivial installation process where you just need to install and run 6 apks in any order, telling them to install them in correct order and then game apk was too much. Now installer makes sure that correct assets are actually extracted and only then replaces installer with the game. I will eventually provide an option to install without permissions (in the internal storage, on desktop platforms this option will instead allow to store saves in the game folder) with the caveat that it will make accessing saves and assets impossible without root. If Unity didn’t require 64 bit builds to use IL2CPP runtime you would’ve been able to even decompile it and see for yourself how it works.

okay, am new to this whole installation process. ive just completed chapter 54 and while id love to write a Massive comment going over the crazy experience i had watching Anon take everything i could ever know about 'CJ' and chucking that bitch out the window and into the depths of hell. i need help... am not sure how am supposed to update my game, if i download the installer for chapter 57, will i have to download the installers for the other chapters as well or will they all come preinstalled alongside chapter 57? and how does the installer even work? ive been on Pc for a while so of course i know what an installer is but ive never used one to do something like this. i just need a bit of guidance, any help is appreciated

(+1)

Android installers make sure that you have everything, so you can just download latest chapter and if you’re missing assets from previous chapters - it will tell you to download exact installers that contain your missing assets. In this case you will likely just need to dl installer 6. If you know that you’re missing several chapters you might not even need update installer, just download installer with larger number (6 currently) and usually it will be enough but if it’s not - it will tell you.

(+1)

The one VN (so far) that has me slightly anxious to read the updates. I just know there is a good chance that Story Anon is gonna make me feel depressed and shit lol Not that a VN invoking emotions in me is a bad thing, I mean it as a compliment

If I'm just downloading the 56>57 chapter update for windows, where exactly should i install the update in the previous folder?

(+1)

Open the update .zip, go into the folder so you can see the OoT .exe

then open your OoT install folder and go to where the OoT .exe is

drag everything from the update folder to the install folder, and click overwrite

thank you!

Last time I played this was at the beginning of RGB part 1.

Gotta say, some of these last chapters made my brain hurt. I guess I get most of what you're going for, but it still was kinda gibberish to me until some of these latest chapters when things finally were somewhat explained (specially everything about the "spaceship" stuff). I prefer a "cleaner" story development, but overall, was very satisfied with how things turned out till now.

I'll probably wait a while to before revisiting it (and hopefully finishing it, if it really is nearing it's completion as it feels) so as to not forget most of what I read (again).

I'm also still postponing finishing Tropicali because of the bittersweet feeling I had when playing it, but I guess I'll manage to finish it before this one. I really don't like being an asshole to girls that were nothing but nice to the MC, just not really my cup of tea.

Anyway, great job! And thank you for this.

Now that I've finished all 57 chapters, I can review a bit more fully.  This is one of the best-written erotic games I've ever seen, and I've played quite a few.  I started my VN experiences many years ago on a day where I came for the erotic content, stayed for the story - that was the original Fate / Stay Night VN.  Since, I've found a few games where I could say that again, but not a vast amount.  The combination of good writing and good nsfw is a rare find.  Out of Touch!, specifically, nails both.  The story is rich, complex, fascinating, intriguing -- you've created a new on-going series for me to get hooked on and sincerely wonder where it's going next, actually waiting with excitement to know the ending of it all.  You've also not skimped on the erotic content -- obviously - but also done that aspect rather fabulously.  To be honest, I do have mixed feelings about the Ch51 twist.  I can't say why without spoilers, so I won't.  Even despite my mixed feelings though, I'm still very intrigued by the richness of the story, still care about the characters' joys / pains / sorrows, and still need to see where this story goes from here / ends.  I've already fallen in with too many intriguing / unfinished works in life (Berserk, Legacy of Kain, Name of the Wind, etc.); please keep going on this one.  Hell, I wish it was on a physical disc with full box art and everything -- I'd gladly add it to my collection when it's finished.  I'd even buy it as a physical book or soundtrack music cd, too.  However, until the next chapter, I'll tide myself over with that playlist on youtube.  Good luck in all your future creative endeavors, man.  And thanks.  Ah, also, the Chad meme, the sense of humor, the 80s aesthetics, and 80s / vaporwave music are fantastic too.

At this point I feel like I'll be playing the last chapters when I turn 80  but damn it's worth the wait, best game I've played In my life. Thx Story Anon

This game is soo peak I can't stop playing this game my eyes tired but still I want to play this game it's my first time I am so hooked to this game and but only 3,4 sex scene are animated hope you add more animation to other scene IAM really waiting for the  next update hope you add for animated scene and I am really thinking about buying the membership for this game!!!!!!

Epic adventure!

Hoping for that installer 7

(+1)

I have just started, and am already wondering what was in the ramen I ate a few hours ago. Is that supposed to happen?

In a few updates, there will be a seventh installer for the android version, or?

When current one hits 2GB yes unless I change the way installation process works before that.

ok

I love this game, all I can say is that Jamie is amazing. I was really shocked when I got to chapter 50, but somehow it was unique and beyond expectations, which is incredibly rare and unique for an AVN.

(+1)

i NEED the sountrack. plz <3

(+1)

the synthwave soundtrack is fire fr, hoping for an official release soon

有中文吗

(+1)

The story is so good

Came for the sex, stayed for the story

just curious if your only downloading the mac update file 56-57 where exactly do u put that for it to be considered installed

im guessing i go into the pakage content folder and copy everything over the files in there but ive never done an update this way and dont wanna screw up the game.

Yes, you’re correct, you need to merge Update/Contents folder with Game.app/Contents

ok thats what i thought. thank you.

CJ FROM SAN ANDREAES? WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THIS GAME,  YOU'RE ON WRONG UNIVERSE HOMIE.

I swear i was keeping the game up to date and installed each chapter as they came out recently. Yet this time i had to install installer6

Maybe this was related to my crashing issue from earlier?  Idk anymore.

As long as it works.

And it does work.

(+1)

When it requires you to run installer it means game installation is missing one of the bundles contained in that installer - this is just a safeguard against people trying to skip updates and then complain that they get missing asset errors. It also helps people download less on Android - it will only ask for installers that contain assets you’re currently missing and usually it will just be the last installer.

(+1)

Been a long while since I last looked at this. I remember this being absolutely amazing but started going a bit too artsy for me around ch 40 or something like that. Any chance its become less... chaotic? Felt like I had to fucking take notes and do indepth analysis just to follow the basic plot. Hoping maybe this got toned down a bit, because I'd love to give it another read through after so long.

(+1)

No, it's still complex. I binged the game and was pretty exhausted by the time I had reached that point, so I was also fairly confused on some things.
It's still worth it though. Ch 51 recontextualizes a lot of what you see in the 40s. 52-57 have been really awesome as well.

I still highly recommend playing through to the current content. This is a game with a lot of foreshadowing, misdirection, and unreliable narrators. It doesn't hand you a clear answer to most of your questions on the first pass. This may turn off some people, but it also make the theorycrafting and second playthroughs a lot of fun.

Additionally, if you look at the top page banner art long enough, it also reflects the characters current conflicts/state of mind.

although you definitely have to read the story to the point you can understand that.

I only noticed it recently.  And wonder if it has gone through multiple updates during development. It's a  subtle touch.

(+2)

i gotta ask do the animated scenes ever come back? the first two with cro and vic were great but after that its basically just images. so my question is do those scenes come back or is it like that for the rest of the game.

(+3)

No not yet, besides the one with Sarah

From what I gather though is that StoryAnon is focusing on finishing the story first before going back to do animations and voice work where necessary

Don't quote me on this though, it's merely what I've gathered but I haven't asked him personally

thank you that helps

I've tried the terminal thing for Mac and it still says its a damaged file. when I type it in it says there's "not enough argument for option -d. Expected at least 2 but got 1" don't know if there's anything else u can recommend trying or if I might be doing it wrong

(+1)

Make sure you put space after com.apple.quarantine before path to game.

oh that could be it thank you I’ll try

omg thanx so much I’ve been trying to get this game to work forever. That was it

(+5)

What the hell! here i am, dick ready to go but by the end of chapter 7 i've gotten teary eyed 4 times!!! with the last one being  actual tears haha! Great stuff so far, the story rocks!

(+1)

Anon you are so good at animation, truly you are one skilled mf!!! also are you the same anon working on MHF?

(+1)

you are our reason

During the "freeroam" section in i think chapter

53? 54? Can't remember.

The visual effects (I'm assuming) caused crashes. Specifically when inside the park.

I had to skip the optional dialog until the VFX became a still image.

 :(

This is on android.

Presumably, you’re referring to shaders. If you want the developers to actually be able to fix this, I’d highly recommend providing more information.

For Example…

  1. What version of Android are you running?
  2. What model is your device?
  3. Which version of the game? (e.g. for the most recent public build, “the Chapter 56 release” would be good enough)
  4. Precisely where do these crashes actually occur?
  5. If possible: take a video recording of the crash happening, so that the devs can see exactly when this happens.
  6. Provide any other information which you think could be useful. They will need to be able to identify exactly what is happening in the game at the point where you’re crashing.
I’m unsure if OoT has any kind of crash or debug logging—normally I’d recommend providing such a thing, but I don’t know if something like that is even accessible with this game.

As It Stands…

You’ve barely provided enough info for them to be able to maybe identify possible sources of the crash, and most developers aren’t going to waste their time trying to track down an obscure crash with almost no information on where that crash even occurs—let alone under what conditions it occurs in.

In The Meantime…

While I can’t help you with the crashes directly, if you can tell me precisely where the crash happens—that is, if you were to tell me what content you’re missing out on—I’d be happy to record and send videos of whatever content you’ve not seen.

You can message me directly if you’d like for me to do that.

Just So That You’re Aware…

I don’t check itch.io very frequently—responding to me on here isn’t likely to receive a very speedy reply. I expect that the next time that I’ll check back here might be somewhere between one to two weeks from now.

What version of android? Can you give runtime.log from the save folder? Does it show any errors in the game or just straight up crashes? Does it crash to home screen? Does animation play at all? Does this happen in earlier chapters with looped animations, like in prologue h-scene?

1. Idk.

2. My device won't let me see installed files unless it's plugged into a PC.

3. Crashes straight to home screen.

4. No problems with animations. Not in prologue nor early chapters. Not even in newer chapters.

Quite literally, the only crashes I've had were in that one scene in the newest "free roam" section. In the park with the blue sparky ball in the background.

I've had to skip just that dialogue. Which is a minor inconvenience.

Huh. The only thing I can think of is a bug with h264 codec on your device or with how unity uses it. Unity doesn’t have its own h264 codec and just uses system provided codec. I don’t see anything different about that particular animation compared to all other ones and they are all encoded exactly the same way. Neither do I see any difference in how it’s used in script.

About 2 - game installs its assets and saves into public folder (which is why it needs file management permission), so you should be able to see it even without plugging into PC.

(1 edit) (+2)

im really into the game so far, its so fun and damn interesting
i did had some trouble getting into it, as it was so off in the bigging and just made me question, what the hell im actually playing
i still do that tho, but rather in a good way
the balance between humor and seriousness is unusual, but amazingly done
i also realy like you references to animes, movies and games
keep up the great work

Edit: Okay, that little RE 2 Remake Easter egg was peak, i notice the herb ice cream everywhere

(+2)

i really can't explain it but the aesthetic of this game just itches a spot in my brain. the neon lights and everything just reminds of those old 90s movies like little monster or power rangers, nostalgic and amazing to look at. i Love it!

it seems from comments this VN is real good

I'll have to endure not to install this for now

😖 grrr

(+1)

This is the first game that felt great special for the update installers it's easy and efficient unlike other "imposible to keep saves after update " game .all game should follow this way of updating and when the game finished remove all and make a full release either this or an in game option where players can select from which update they want to play that would be even more easier the best solution to all the suffering

Me preguntó si tendrá traducción 🤔

(+2)

How many chapters are left approximately before the story ends ?

I do hope we get a few epilogue chapters as well but I'm excited about replaying the full story once it's completed, it has been such a nice surprise finding out how great this game is

(+2)

There will be 100 chapters.

(2 edits) (+1)

does it mean this will take more than a year to be completed?

(+3)

Yes.

(+1)

Considering this game was published July 2020 and we are only halfway... theres still a couple years left.
