I tried installing this the way it says, but it didn't work saying it was made for an older version of Android. (I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 by the way)
When did you download it? Does it upen installer application and only fail at the end? If installers can run but fail at the end - you might’ve downloaded on the first day when wrong version was uploaded, download update apk, delete Out_of_Touch/Game.apk file on your phone and install update apk. Otherwise I have no idea.
How did it fail? Did it open app and install assets but then failed to install runtime? If so, check if Out_of_Touch/Game.apk file exists and install it manually, if it doesn’t exist then you have overzealous antivirus deleting game apk before it’s installed. Or did it not open app at all? The error you’re getting is normal, it’s impossbie to build app using new android api because it doesn’t allow file system access at all.
If you’re on android just download update installer - it’s listed separately. If you’re on previous update then it will just install new content. If you’re more than 1 update behind it will tell you which installers to download to install missing content (usually it will require only the last installer, so if you know you’re several updates behind - just download last installer and if it’s not enough it will tell you which ones to download)
Lemme just say this first: I really like it. The writing is super good and engaging, although I will say (as a young adult here) that the swearing is comically over the top. Like, I'm not gonna say it's Vivziepop levels, but it might be approaching that.
Secondly: I fucking love that CJ's ringtone (in like one scene) is a Bloody Stream midi, please use that more in the future, when it first played I was genuinely just thinking about how he felt a little bit like Joseph and was utterly shocked and amazed.

The game was great until I was forcefully put into the save menu for the 8th time without even tapping on anything... Ehhh the constant use of fag, talking about how they shouldnt think about it since its illegal. He's definitely not the worst type by any means, he thinks his friend is gay yet he's still very nice and supportive, even loving to them. It's just a weird amount of implicit homophobia, which is a real thing even among generally good people because of social conditioning, the thing that makes it weird is that CJ sorta seems immune to social conditioning in most other ways. Also, he looks like the queerest dude alive so there is a bit of projecting there. Again, its not terrible, just a bit unnecessary in my opinion. It could even have been a really fun dynamic for him to think Jamie is gay, and be overly supportive about it, while everyone else knows the truth. I'd argue you'd get better jokes out of that than just the constant "don't be a fag".
Only going into it this deep because the game is great tho, most other avns never touch the subject or are frequently way worse about it. The only one in my memory that did an A+ job on it is realm invader, highly recommend it!
I agree, this bothered me about CJ, too. Just... Note that even at that point, there are already at least two homosexual characters in the story (albeit, they're both girls, and I suppose it'd be more accurate to say one of them is bisexual; the other will inevitably end up being… well, forced into bisexuality, in a way). Later on, there's at least one explicitly homosexual male and one bisexual male, one of which is… I can't really say without spoiling things, fuck. And it doesn't seem like there's any way to spoiler tag text on this site.
It concerned me, too, but as the story progresses you'll come to realize that CJ's attitude towards homosexuality isn't as bigoted as if might have seemed early on. Remember that he's still pretty much a kid, he's got a lot of growing up to do. CJ may seem to be the protagonist, but I'm my opinion, that's not really true. Each of the girls in his polycule are just as much the protagonist as CJ is, if not more so. You spend more time getting to know each of them from their perspective than you do getting to know CJ from his. In fact, you almost never see things from CJ's perspective beyond the prologue.
Let's be real, here: CJ's entire ‘look’ is incredibly metrosexual. Seriously, he practically screams “I'm a closeted bisexual guy!” I think that if Jamie had turned out to actually have a dick, CJ would've made it work. As in, they'd eventually have fucked.
See, CJ is terrified of being emotionally vulnerable around others, even those he's intimately connected to, just like most men are. It's the same shitty reality that the majority of men in the present day face. There's a lovely phrase for it: toxic masculinity.
He feels as if he has to always be the “man,” always has to support those he cares about, and that if he ever allowed them to support him instead, he'd somehow be rendered incapable of continuing to provide that support to others. It's genuinely really fuckin' sad.
That said, he grows up a lot throughout the story. Early on, you'd be right that he gives off some very distinctly homophobic vibes, but later, not so much; though, doing get me wrong, they're still there (it's not as if he's dealt with them, after all), they're just not being actively expressed.
I've just reached around chapter 35 and he's still not confronted this part of himself, and I'm not sure he even will within the next X chapters—before I reach the end of the content that's currently out—but I would be very, very surprised if this wasn't addressed by the end of the series. Several characters struggle with their sexuality in different ways, one of which is explicitly a struggle with homosexuality, and the writers always deal with such topics with maturity and respect. For example, the relationship dynamic that they ask have is far less a “harem” and far more a polyamarous polycule.
Remember: a character's beliefs and actions are not the same as the author's beliefs and actions. Without conflict, one can't grow. You can both dislike CJ's homophobic behaviors and still love the story and characters. These are not mutually exclusive things, after all.

this is possibly the best VN I’ve ever played, including mainstream releases like Persona. If it wasn’t a porn game this would be heralded as a pinnacle of storytelling in games.
Edit: I finished all current chapters in 3 days, there’s now a hole where the story is missing. Honestly haven’t felt this hard about a game story since I finished the ME trilogy. I look forward to the beautiful, tragic things looking over the horizon.

Try downloading the smallest one and run it, if it runs then the game will most likely run and you can download the rest (you won’t be able to start the game without all of them but installers are built the same way as the game so if they can run then game should too). I think it is built for android 4.4 and up but I doubt it actually runs on 4.4, but on 8.1 it should run.

If it only supports 64 bit apps - no, it can’t run it. You can try experimental 64 bit build pinned on discord in android support channel but it requires manually extracting content from installers because I only built 64 bit game runtime.

But I don't know how it work to update the app for a newer version of android. But a lot of games run just fine in my phone. And your's runed before. You’re the first person with that problem. Do you mean loudness is inconsistent between tracks? It used to be inconsistent but for over a year most tracks should have normalized loudness within reason. Or are you talking about something else?
What was happening was I changed the music volume to what I wanted it to be at (about 13), then when the track changed it would start playing at the default volume (50). I had to go back and change the volume slightly to get it playing at the correct volume again. This happened a few times. Weirdly I can't reproduce it anymore. Maybe it only happens on first run?
